Seventh Chakra – Crown Chakra
Tibetan Note ~ B
Enlightenment, Self-Realisation, Fulfilment and Divine Self
The highest chakra, Sahasrara (meaning thousand-fold), is linked to and governs your spiritual awareness and health, along with connections to other people, the universe and the higher power. Before working on this chakra, remember that energy flows from the bottom up. It is crucial to align your other chakras before working on this one. Physically, it is tied in with the central nervous system and general well-being.
The crown chakra will help keep your mind focused on related issues, including the reprogramming of dysfunctional patterns of thought and behaviour. As the function of the crown within the chakra system as a whole, the pineal gland is the control centre for the effective functioning of our physical, emotional and mental selves.
The pineal gland is located in the centre underside part of the brain between the left and right hemispheres. It is linked with the production of melatonin and regulates our internal body clock. Melatonin also affects the pituitary, thyroid, adrenals and gonads.
Surrounding yourself with violet and opening your crown chakra will give you a sense of wholeness with the universe. Some of the balancing methods for this chakra include meditation, yoga and productive thought.
When the crown chakra is too open/overactive/congested (chakra spins too fast):
Psychotic; manic depressive; confused sexual expression; frustrated; a sense of unrealised power; destructive behaviour; psychosis; paralysis; high blood pressure.
When the crown chakra is blocked/weak/depleted (chakra spins slowly or not at all):
Constantly exhausted; can’t make decisions; no sense of “belonging”; lack of joy; headaches; epilepsy; frustration; depression; feelings of separateness.
When the crown chakra is balanced/healthy (chakra maintains equilibrium and spins at correct vibrational speed):
Magnetic personality; achieves “miracles” in life; transcendent; at peace with self; indicates a full blossoming of consciousness; the fulfilment of the divine Kundalini energy’s journey from the root chakra at the base of the spine.
Goal: Expanded consciousness.
